From my linited knowledge of web logs to date I’ve just thought that blog was a four letter word! After attending this conference last week (Computers In Education Users Group in South Australia) my eyes have been opened and interest aroused. I was amazed at the use to which blogs have been put and how many of the conferees are using them. While being a personal thing to record and/or share one’s life with others they are also being used as a powerful tool for professional learning, development and networking. I didn’t get to any of the specific workshops about blogs and now I’m regretting that but here I am taking the plunge and starting one!

I enjoy using computers especially exploring the many possibilities they present. At the moment I’m a little out of my comfort zone as I write this because I’m not quite sure if I’m ‘doing it right’ or what to do next! I just thought that the best way to learn was to start.

Things that I’m interested in or working on at the moment include digital portfolios for the students at the school in which I work, using Photostory3 and interactive whiteboards. I would be interested to hear from anyone with an interest in these. We have developed digital portfolios over the last 3 years. I’ll share some ideas on that later. As for Photostory3 I’d love to see some examples of what can be done. I’m happy with the basics but want to explore the possibilities.
